Acceleration of innovation in the water sector

Objectives

 

Extract from the 2022 Dakar Declaration: “Resilience in the face of climate, demographic, health and food changes and the fight against water stress require the availability of water, in quality and quantity, to ensure the health of populations, the sustainability of ecosystems and inclusive growth »

Challenges:

  • Achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 6 (Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all)
  • Protection of water resources
  • Water quality throughout the entire cycle
  • Management of long-term assets in a rapidly changing environment
  • Cost control
  • Reduction of carbon footprint
  • Support for industrial innovation
  • Implementation of new technologies or processes in the water sector

  • Digital transition in the water sector
  • Low-carbon transition in the water sector
  • Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) – (including water-energy-food/security nexus)
  • Education & Training – Governance & Awareness
