Boosting industrial processes and bio-based innovation through biotechnology
Biotech4food will enable companies to invest in innovation with the aim of improving food production processes by making them more sustainable, developing new bio-based ingredients for better nutrition, moving towards a circular agri-food industry, and intelligently valorizing secondary flows, by-products, and waste. The Biotech4Food project will run for 36 months, from November 2023 to October 2026, and has a total budget of over €4,000,000. It is linked to Grant Agreement No. 101115135 and is part of the European program I3-2021-INV2a-MANU.
Objectives
The main objective of Biotech4Food is to support the creation of new circular agri-food value chains, as well as sustainable interregional industrial investments for SMEs at the junction between biotechnology and the agri-food industry.
- Share the skills and expertise of local, regional, and national companies on the application of biotechnology in the agri-food industry.
- Finance projects by SMEs/startups.
- Strengthen collaboration between different stakeholders in France and Europe.
- Accelerate the implementation of innovative technologies
- Facilitate public and private investment in agri-food SMEs
- Raise awareness among public authorities about the opportunities offered by the sector
