Healthy snacking revolution
The project aims to revolutionize the healthy snack market by developing popped chips based on improved pea proteins and legumes, thus eliminating the soy allergen and meeting the demand for allergen-free products.
In collaboration with Belgian industrial and academic partners such as Nutradia, Cosucra, the University of Gembloux and Meurice R&D, the project focuses on the organoleptic and functional improvement of pea proteins and crushed legumes, as well as on the optimization, through innovation, of production processes.
These innovations will enable us to produce chips with unrivalled nutritional and taste characteristics. Local sourcing of raw materials and internalization of production will reduce costs and carbon footprints, while creating jobs and strengthening the local economy.
The project promises to enhance Nutradia’s and Cosucra’s position in the respective international markets for healthy snacks and vegetable proteins, by offering high-quality, innovative and sustainable products.
