TRIBIOME is developing microbiome-based solutions across the entire food chain\u2014from soil to plant,\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>animal<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0and human health\u2014to make food production more sustainable,\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span>resilient<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0and nutritious in line with the European Green Deal and Farm to Fork Strategy.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Tribiome’s vision is to develop and implement a systemic solution<\/strong> to transform current food production systems.<\/p>\n

To this end, Tribiome aims to advance alignment with the Green Deal and Farm2fork strategies, by deepening the knowledge of soil\/plant\/animal and human microbiomes<\/strong>, as well as their interrelationships and interconnections, so that they can play a leading role in the resilience of food production systems i<\/strong>n the near future.<\/p>\n

Tribiome will face the main challenges<\/strong> such as the need to minimize resources, reduce the environmental impact and promote healthy and plant-based food chain while feeding a constantly growing world population under the paradigm of climate change. The project will run for four years, from 2023 to 2027.<\/p>\n

Objectives<\/h2>\n

This project aims to drive this concept from its base, establishing its central nucleus in current agricultural production systems based on the relevancy of the soil and plant microbiome, in order to produce more with less, through knowledge of microbial biodiversity and its interaction with the plant, developing novel technologies to influence its modulation<\/strong> (i.e., those enhancing plant growth, nutrient use efficiency, abiotic stress tolerance and better nutritional and health quality of food products) in such a way as to generate an upgrade quality food<\/strong> and have a positive influence on the microbiomes of both animals and humans.<\/p>\n

To this end, we will work cooperatively in a multiactor approach<\/strong> framework with all actors in the food production systems chain, from farmers to consumers, industry, investors and policy makers, in order to develop systemic solutions that guarantee their implementation and solve the real problems and needs of society.<\/p>\n

Tools developed and support<\/h2>\n

The project is developing a Decision Support Network, a digital farmer advisory platform\/mobile app, microbiome modulation solutions for crops, and practical guidelines\/data models to support more efficient and resilient food production systems.<\/p>\n

Project outcome<\/h2>\n

TRIBIOME will generate new business opportunities through microbiome-based products and services, helping companies improve sustainability performance, reduce input dependency, enhance crop and food quality, and respond to growing market and regulatory demand for greener solutions.<\/p>\n
