At that time, when they are 3 to 4 weeks old, the piglets undergo a radical change in diet and are exposed to numerous bacterial infections. The use of antibiotics is consequently widespread around weaning.<\/p>\n<p>Following an increasing number of cases of bacterial resistance to antibiotics in humans and animals, the authorities have set a goal to reduce their use by at least 50% by the year 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The Porcbiota project is intended to provide a real alternative in the form of a synbiotic agent, consisting of innovative pre- and pro-biotics, and administered through the feed around the birth of piglets.
