The purpose of Fibersol is to bolster the supply of soluble fermentable fibre in a market dominated mainly by inulin, oligofructose  and galacto-oligosaccharides. These oligosaccharides have technological shortcomings that the project seeks to overcome by finding other sources of fermentable soluble fibres. Accordingly, Fibersol aims to produce and market a new dietary fibre extracted from cereals, which are traditionally important components of our diet (20% of daily calorie intake by volume in a person living in the West).
