Focus 4 - Valaxson

Developing the antioxidant potential of cereals by biocracking

Goals

To develop raw materials from cereals by-products from Walloon agrofactories for exploiting their antioxidant properties by: 

• Highlighting the potential of natural extraction methods
• Analysing the antioxidant potential of extracts produced using an innovative, integrated analytical strategy
• Identifying the health claims which might be associated with the extracts produced
• Looking into the production of the extracts on an industral scale
• Assessing the possible ways of developing the extracts and by-products from the process developed
