The projects
The projects supported and financed by the Walloon Region via WagrALIM are covered by research and innovation, investment or training.
The total amount of money spent on all these projects is 55.3 M euro so far, 38.3 M euro of which comes from public funding (from the Walloon Region).
The projects which come under the category of Research and Innovation are directly linked to the 4 focus areas for development, and are divided into two types: core projects and applied projects.
What is a core project?
A core project builds a sustainable network of partners and brings together an extended knowledge base which is both diverse and complementary. It comes at a stage before concerns about competition, and is intended to develop useful skills and technological tools for all those interested in one of the four priority areas.
What is an applied project?
On the basis of these core projects, more targeted industrial projects are built which focus on specific products or markets. These projects involve more restricted partnerships, and use the scientific and technological tools developed within core projects to develop products or technology, that will be marketed.
The partners of a consortium remain owners of the results, with a view to using them in their industry.
Investment and training projects support innovation and are developed within the context of WagrALIM's strategic focus areas.
