Focus 4 - Laitherbe
Developing a complete milk chain based on herb-based feed to produce high quality, unique milk and offering value-added opportunities for each link in the chain.
The LAITHERBE project was launched after the 6th call for proposals ans started in February 2011.
Goals
To develop a complete (producer, processor, consumer) sustainable milk chain offering added-value opportunities for milk products. This project is based on:
- the production of a high quality milk for cheese, using feed that is specifically suited to animals, created based on local products;
- the conservation and improvement of the nutritional value and taste of the milk, using innovative milk processing and cheese packaging technologies;
- the creation of authentic local products, with close ties to the area they come from.
